For over a decade, Dr. Chorney has committed to advancing women’s cardiovascular health through precision medicine now at the Women’s Heart Program in Scottsdale, Arizona. As a Menopause Society member, advanced training from the MIT in Al & Sloan School of Management, She also serves as a national speaker for ZOLL Medical and a genetics consultant, enhancing healthcare accessibility and empowering women to make informed health decisions.
Dr. Lisa Larkin

Trained at Yale and the University of Chicago, Dr. Lisa Larkin is a women’s health internist, menopause, sexual medicine, and medical breast expert and a physician and consumer educator who has been practicing in both academics and private practice for over 30 years. She is Founder and CEO of Ms.Medicine, a national health care organization dedicated to advancing women’s health on a broader scale through innovation in care delivery models and consumer and clinician education and Founder and CEO of Concierge Medicine of Cincinnati, an Internal Medicine and Women’s Health practice where she continues to practice clinically. Dr. Larkin also serves on the Board of Trustees of The Menopause Society, and has served as Treasurer (2019-2022), as Scientific Program Chair (2022-2023) and now as the President of the Society (2023-2024).

Dr. Mitzi Krockover, a leading voice in women’s health innovation, joins ThePause™ Board of Medical Advisors with expertise spanning medical practice, executive leadership, and healthcare investment. As the Founder and CEO of Woman Centered, LLC, she champions personalized solutions through consulting and education, while her podcast, Beyond the Paper Gown, equips women with essential health knowledge. Her leadership extends to Golden Seeds, where she advances health innovation by investing in women-led startups and co-founding the Arizona chapter. Additionally, Dr. Krockover serves on the boards of the Black Women’s Health Imperative and the Institute for Mental Health Research, making her an advocate for equitable health care. Dr. John Shufeldt
MD, JD, MBA, FACEP
John Shufeldt, MD, JD, MBA, FACEP is a healthcare entrepreneur, emergency medicine practitioner, attorney, educator, and investor with more than 35 years of experience leading healthcare innovation and building high performing organizations. He earned his BA from Drake University and his MD from the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School, followed by an Emergency Medicine residency where he served as Chief Resident. He later earned both an MBA and a Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University and holds additional certifications in Six Sigma, Artificial Intelligence from MIT Sloan, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Harvard. Dr. Shufeldt founded NextCare in 1993 and grew it into a network of 60 clinics across six states, later launching the telehealth platform MeMD which was acquired by Walmart in 2021. He also founded Tribal Health to address healthcare disparities in Indigenous communities, Xcellerant Ventures to support emerging health technology companies, and VivaMed BioPharma, a multinational drug development company. In addition to practicing emergency medicine, he teaches health law and ethics at Arizona State University, is a prolific author and speaker, and has been recognized with Arizona State University naming its new medical school the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering in 2025. He is also an accomplished aviator with more than 5500 flight hours and an Airline Transport Pilot rating.

Dr. Adrijana Kekic

Dr. Adrijana Kekic, CEO of Futurome™ is a Pharmacogenomics Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and a recognized leader in the integration of AI and emerging multiomics technologies to personalize medicine. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, she was formerly with Mayo Clinic spearheading the implementation of pharmacogenomics services. She brings over two decades of clinical expertise, healthcare innovation, and leadership to her work. As a clinician, researcher, educator, and speaker, Dr. Kekic is committed to advancing precision medicine—because one size does not fit all. Practicing in the Valley since 2006, she specializes in hormone balancing, reproductive health, gastrointestinal wellness, and integrative mental health—key pillars in perimenopause and menopause care. A 33rd-generation Shaolin Qi Gong healer, her Dharma name, Shi Yongxing, is honored at the Shaolin Temple in Henan, China. Dr. Xiao holds degrees from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, including a Ph.D. in TCM focused on depression treatment. Founder of the nonprofit EMed Research Center, she leads innovative research into chronic conditions. Her integrative approach—combining acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Qi Gong—aligns with thePause™ mission to deliver holistic, personalized solutions for women’s health.
Krupa Patel

Dr. Krupa Patel is a doctorate-prepared nurse practitioner (NP) with dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Her advanced clinical training, combined with extensive experience across multiple healthcare settings, positions her as a respected leader in patient care and medical strategy.
Dr. Patel’s professional background includes service as a registered nurse in cardiac care, as well as family medicine and general cardiology as an NP across both inpatient and outpatient environments. This breadth of expertise has equipped her with a deep understanding of complex patient care, preventive medicine, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Grill

Dr. Elizabeth A. Grill is the Director of Psychological Services at the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine and an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Medicine, and Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine. She also serves as an Assistant Attending Psychologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
A nationally recognized expert and innovator in reproductive and sexual mental health, Dr. Grill is the current Chair of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, Past Chair of the ASRM Mental Health Professional Group, and Immediate Past President of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research.
Dr. Grill is a seasoned health psychologist and researcher specializing in the emotional aspects of infertility, IVF, third-party reproduction, fertility preservation, oncofertility, sexual dysfunction, and the impact of stress on reproductive health. She is also the co-owner of FertiCalm and FertiStrong, the first evidence-based digital apps designed to reduce infertility-related distress.
She serves as an editorial reviewer for leading peer-reviewed journals, is the author of numerous scholarly articles and book chapters and has lectured globally to medical and patient audiences. Dr. Grill’s expertise is frequently sought by national media for topics related to the psychological dimensions of reproductive medicine.
