LAS VEGAS — The Foundation for Women’s Leadership & Empowerment (FWLE) held its annual Women’s Leadership Conference at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas on Sept. 4-5. With the theme of “Ours to Own,” the conference provided an immersive and interactive learning experience where attendees could share their insights, participate in workshops and network with other women leaders.
To help bridge the gap between capital investment in male-led startups compared to women-led startups, more women need to become investors.
During a fireside chat with Susan Sly, A.I. CEO, Entrepreneur, Investor and Board Member, she highlighted the gap between investment in male-led startups compared to women-led startups, despite women-owned startups delivering twice as much per dollar as men, according to CNBC. She encourages more women to become the check-writers to help support women in business and close the investment gap.✨

Susan Sly, a two-time AI startup founder, spoke to my Roundtable group, explaining: “AI is like a toddler right now. It will grow up to be a teenager, and you know what teenagers like to do — rebel. They do what you tell them not to do.”
The impact of AI on the job market will be severe. A McKinsey report suggests that 400 million to 800 million jobs worldwide could be displaced by 2030 due to automation and AI. Also, an overreliance on AI could lead to a loss of certain skills and a diminished ability to perform tasks without technological assistance.
Sly said jobs from therapist and accountant to executive assistant, paralegal and editor could go away. On the flip side, people who work with their hands will have the most money and power in the future — construction workers, electricians, plumbers, surgeons and pilots.✨
