Embracing Innovation and Diversity: The Pause at HPE Discover 2024
6/18/24
This week, Susan Sly, the CEO and Founder of thePause™, is attending the HPE Discover 2024 event in Las Vegas. This remarkable gathering brings together innovators, visionaries, and leaders from various industries to discuss and showcase the future of technology. It’s an honor to have The Pause featured prominently during the keynote session by Antonio Neri, President and CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA.
During the keynote, Antonio highlighted the significance of having the right AI strategy and how HPE is leading the way in engineering excellence, delivery, and support. His words resonated deeply with the team at The Pause, especially when he spoke about the necessity of a hybrid strategy for deploying AI, which ensures data governance, regulatory compliance, and security. These aspects are integral to what The Pause aims to achieve. The platform leverages AI to provide personalized, gamified experiences for women navigating their menopause journey, ensuring that each woman receives the support and information she needs when she needs it.
Antonio emphasized, “To deploy AI, you must orchestrate hundreds of microservices, multiple AI models, specific accelerators, and connect many different data sources, all of which are highly distributed across your hybrid IT state.” This perfectly encapsulates the complexity and precision required in creating a seamless AI-driven solution, which is precisely what The Pause strives for. By partnering with HPE through their Diversity Startup Program, The Pause has accessed the resources and support needed to grow and innovate continuously.
The Diversity Startup Program by HPE is a vital initiative that supports the growth of women and minority founders, providing opportunities that are often scarce in the startup ecosystem. Being a part of this program has been transformative for The Pause, enabling the team to harness the power of AI and deliver a platform that truly makes a difference in women’s lives. As Antonio mentioned, “Quality is woven in our culture. Innovation is baked in our DNA.” This rings true for The Pause as well; the commitment to quality and innovation is unwavering.
The journey with HPE has been incredibly rewarding, and being featured at such a prestigious event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team at The Pause. The Pause is more than just a platform; it’s a community. The dedication to creating a space where women can connect, learn, and empower each other through shared experiences and expert insights is evident in every aspect of the platform.
The Pause is grateful for the support from HPE and the opportunity to collaborate with such forward-thinking leaders in the tech industry. Together, they are driving innovation and fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for women entrepreneurs. The support and belief in The Pause’s mission fuel the passion to continue breaking barriers and setting new standards in women’s health and wellness.

Raising the awareness of heart disease is crucial.
2/2/24 – thePause.ai co-founder Dr. Mia Chorney recently had the honor of chatting with Erin Moran, Senior Director for The American Heart Association about why raising awareness for heart disease is crucial. Erin’s personal story of losing her sister Ashley to a stroke at just 34 drives her advocacy efforts.
Erin emphasizes the importance of knowing our numbers – cholesterol, blood pressure – and discussing heart health within our families. Over 80% of heart disease outcomes are preventable through lifestyle changes and medications.
Erin’s message resonates deeply: “One woman dies every 80 seconds from heart disease.” We need to spread awareness, especially among women and those in midlife. Heart disease doesn’t discriminate, affecting mothers, sisters, and friends alike.
Let’s keep the conversation going and support organizations like The American Heart Association in their mission for longer, healthier lives.

Women are few and far between in leadership positions across industries.
1/9/24 – Women are few and far between in leadership positions across industries. Only 2% of VC funding goes to female founders. 12% of AI researchers are women. Only 33% of the employees at large tech companies are women.
This inspired Shelley to found The Female Quotient, building a global community of powerful women. Her company partners with the most influential businesses in the world to raise the visibility of women through experiences, media, and advisory. This year marked the biggest contingent with over 500 women walking the floor in unity through CES.
No, we do not just want to be in the room. We want our voices to be heard and our opinions to matter.
Susan Sly, thePause Founder and CEO, had a chance to catch up with powerhouse Shelley Zalis at CES in Las Vegas. Shelley is an American entrepreneur and gender equity advocate.
